Uzinduzi is a digital platform meant to help artists launch their artwork and get necessary support from their fans and supporters. It’s a great way for artists to connect with their audience and get the support they need to continue creating.
What We Do
We make Album launches profitable for the artists whilst the fans also get a physical experience of their favourite artist’s work through a physical plaque delivered to them in their name. Fans collaborate with each other to financially partner their artist’s album launch using the tools available on the platform. At the end of the virtual launch, fans are grouped by the extent of their partnership resulting in each category getting a plaque shipped to them respective of their bid amount. The plaques rank Gold, Silver, Sapphire, Emarald and Crimson.All proceeds will go towards the artist after plaque manufacturing expenses.
How We Do It
Firstly, artists create accounts with Uzinduzi and set up their bio information on their profiles. When they have an upcoming album launch, we create the virtual launch event tied to their account. The event link is used to invite fans through the artist’s social media accounts as well as ours.
Fans interested in supporting the artist can attend the launch by clicking the virtual album launch link. Upon
login in, they are welcomed by the details of the album, the songs on the album, features, the album art and the plaque design for that album. Most importantly, a slider to place a support amount for the album.
After going through the details of the album by the artist, the prompt to partner appears allowing the fan to support their artist in local currency or foreign currency using multiple payment options available. If a fan does not see their payment option of choice, they can ask for a different payment method and Uzinduzi will facilitate payment from such.
When a support amount has been placed, the corresponding plaque category is automatically awarded, and contact details of the fan are required for shipping of the plaque and customisation of the nametag on the plaque. Manufacturing and shipping of plaques commences 2 weeks after the launch event expires.
The proceeds are forwarded to the respective artist after
deduction of plaque manufacturing expenses and our service commission. The statistics of the financial performance of the album launch are compiled. The information is shared on our social media pages for transparency and future inhouse awards.
In total an album launch on the Uzinduzi platform runs for a total of 10 days. 3 days are before the artist’s own physical launch and 7 days after the artist’s physical launch. On the 11th day, all plaques are compiled for manufacturing followed by shipping to all the respective locations of the fans who earned the plaques. Shipping costs are extended to the respective fan receiving a plaque.
